Job Summary

This role involves managing the operational and technical aspects of inland waterway traffic information systems for the Office of Inland Traffic Engineering (ABVT) in Koblenz. You will be responsible for the planning, maintenance, and further development of critical communication networks and services, including AIS and DGNSS systems. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating system documentation, coordinating maintenance and inspections, managing spare parts, and handling procurement processes for new equipment. You will also lead planning meetings and conduct training sessions on transmission technology. This position is particularly attractive due to its involvement in the 'Traffic Engineering 4.0' strategy, offering a modern working environment with flexible hours, up to 40% teleworking, and a significant monthly specialist allowance of up to 1,500 Euro on top of a competitive public service salary.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (FH-Diploma or Bachelor) in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Information Technology or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Experience in measurement technology and error analysis within network technology
  • Experience in coordinating maintenance, repair, and inspection of technical services
  • Experience in procurement and contract management with third parties
