Job Summary
This role offers a unique opportunity to join the German Social Accident Insurance (BG ETEM) as a Field Safety Engineer and Inspector, with a specialized focus on investigating occupational diseases. Based in the Trier, Eifel, and Hunsrück region, you will conduct workplace exposure assessments, investigate suspected cases of work-related illnesses, and produce detailed technical reports. Your daily activities will involve analyzing physical, chemical, and psychological hazards, conducting accident investigations, and advising member companies on health and safety regulations. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Master of Science, Master of Engineering, or Diploma) in Chemistry, Process Engineering, or a comparable technical field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in chemical engineering, process engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience in workplace hazard analysis including physical and psychological factors
- Previous experience as a certified inspector (Aufsichtsperson) is preferred but not mandatory
- Experience in conducting technical investigations and preparing formal reports
- Proven ability to handle high levels of responsibility and emotional resilience

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Willingness to undertake frequent nationwide business trips, including multi-day travel. Must reside within the assigned inspection territory. Requirement to complete a two-year training program in Cologne if not already a certified inspector.
