Job Summary

As a Switchgear Design Engineer at BRÜGGEN ENGINEERING in Weinheim, you will play a pivotal role in the modernization of energy infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the primary technical planning and design of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage substations. You will utilize advanced CAD software to perform calculations for short-circuit currents and lightning protection, while creating detailed construction documentation for assembly teams. Beyond technical design, you will act as a consultant for on-site construction colleagues, manage project quality, and oversee external engineering services. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering (specializing in Energy Technology), or a certified Technician qualification in Electrical/Energy Engineering. Alternatively, a qualification in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the planning of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage systems, specifically in primary technology.
  • Experience in creating technical planning documentation and bills of materials.
  • Proven track record in using CAD systems for engineering design.
  • Experience in project steering and coordinating with external service providers and customers.
