Job Summary
This role involves taking responsibility for the implementation and operation of data infrastructure within a high-impact software project focused on developing an AI assistant for the public sector. On a day-to-day basis, you will design and evolve complex data architectures, models, and infrastructures on data analysis platforms. You will be responsible for building, testing, and monitoring ETL/ELT pipelines to move data from various source systems into Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Lakehouses. A key focus is on ensuring high data quality and availability through automated processes. This position is particularly attractive for professionals interested in cutting-edge AI applications, such as RAG systems and vector databases, while working in a structured, agile environment based in Berlin. It offers the chance to bridge the gap between traditional data engineering and modern AI application development.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in (Business) Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a comparable field of study; alternatively, completed vocational training in IT with relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in data engineering within agile projects and product environments
- Deep practical experience in Python and SQL development including software testing standards
- Advanced experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL tools like Apache Airflow or dbt
- Practical experience in operating data infrastructures using Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with AI applications, RAG systems, and vector databases is highly desirable
