Job Summary
This leadership position at Energietechnik Essen GmbH involves overseeing the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) department, specifically focusing on the monitoring and planning of testing processes for retaining rings and bar material. The successful candidate will manage a team and handle the technical evaluation of inquiries based on international standards and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include deriving NDT instructions, evaluating test results, performing error analyses, and serving as the primary technical contact for international customers and suppliers. This role is unique for its high level of responsibility in a climate-friendly steel group, offering the chance to drive digitalization projects and technological development within the NDT sector. It combines technical expertise in materials science with strategic personnel management and safety compliance in a stable, permanent full-time position.
Required Skills
Education
Completed technician training or a technical degree, ideally specializing in Materials Technology, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering. Level 3 qualification according to DIN EN ISO 9712 and/or EN 4179 is highly preferred.
Experience
- Professional experience in Non-Destructive Testing procedures, specifically Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
- Leadership experience in managing a department or a team.
- Experience in technical feasibility assessments and deriving NDT instructions from norms and specifications.
- Experience in mechanical or metallurgical testing such as tensile tests, impact tests, or metallography is preferred.
- Experience in the industrial or aviation sector regarding NDT qualifications.
