Job Summary

As an Environmental Education Specialist at the Water-Forest Center (WWZ) in Schortens, you will play a pivotal role in promoting groundwater and water resource protection. Your daily activities will involve identifying critical environmental themes—ranging from ecology and agriculture to technical history—and developing innovative educational concepts tailored for diverse audiences including students, teachers, and the general public. You will lead guided tours, manage the information center's organizational tasks, and represent the organization at regional events. This part-time position (30 hours/week) offers a unique opportunity to combine pedagogical skills with environmental advocacy in a region-focused utility company. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Pedagogy, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Geography, Hydrology, or Social Sciences with an environmental focus; alternatively, a completed vocational training with advanced certification (e.g., Further Education Educator or Master Craftsman) in forestry, agriculture, or nature conservation.

Experience

  • Professional experience in conveying complex content to diverse target groups
  • Experience in developing educational concepts and programs is highly desirable
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining cooperation with various stakeholders
  • Experience in organization, planning, and project management
  • Strong background or affinity for environmental topics, specifically water and soil protection
