Job Summary
The City of Fürth is seeking a qualified Technician or Master Craftsman to join the Civil Engineering Department's maintenance yard. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems throughout the city. Your daily activities will include coordinating and supervising technical measures, handling accident damage reports, and ensuring the implementation of traffic law orders regarding signage. This position is vital for public safety, requiring you to manage both internal staff and external contractors. A unique aspect of this role is the involvement in emergency response services, including winter maintenance and flood defense, which may require on-call duties outside of regular hours. Required Skills
Education
State-certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker) in Civil Engineering, Metal Construction, or Electrical Engineering; or a Master Craftsman certificate (Meister) in Road Construction, Metalwork, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience
- Professional experience as a State-Certified Technician in Civil Engineering, Metal Construction, or Electrical Engineering
- Professional experience as a Master Craftsman (Meister) in Road Construction, Metalwork, or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in coordinating, monitoring, and accepting technical maintenance measures
- Experience in the organization and execution of winter services is preferred
- Experience in administrative and legal procedures related to public construction is beneficial
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license required. Must be available for on-call duty (Rufbereitschaft) for winter service and flood defense, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to reach the workplace quickly during emergencies.
