Job Summary
This role involves supporting innovative projects centered on wastewater heat utilization and renewable energies within the Water Management and Hydrometeorology department in Essen. Day-to-day, the successful candidate will conceptually develop aquathermal energy initiatives, refine regional energy maps, and process data derived from sewer network modeling and pollution load calculations. A significant portion of the role focuses on the maintenance and enhancement of water management data using GIS and specialized applications, alongside developing automation routines for quality management and flood forecasting. Required Skills
Education
Master's degree in Geoinformatics, Geography, Hydrology, Water Science, Civil Engineering, Water Management, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in geoinformatics, urban water management, hydrology, geography, or geosciences
- Practical experience in relevant programming languages including Python, Java, R, or JavaScript
- Experience in conducting spatial GIS analyses
- Experience applying agile methods in a project environment
