As a Department Manager within KPMG's Shared Delivery Center, you will lead a specialized team providing tax and accounting services across locations in Leipzig, Magdeburg, or Essen. Your daily responsibilities involve steering operational workflows to ensure high-quality output in financial accounting, payroll, and tax returns. You will hold disciplinary and functional leadership responsibility for team leads and experts, focusing on personnel planning, recruitment, and professional development. Beyond operations, you will act as a strategic partner to the Tax service line, driving the expansion of the service portfolio and managing projects for departmental growth. This role is ideal for a solution-oriented leader who enjoys a mix of technical tax oversight and high-level management. Required Skills
Education
Degree in Economics/Business Administration or a relevant vocational qualification such as Certified Tax Assistant (Steuerfachangestellte), Tax Specialist (Steuerfachwirt), or Financial Accountant (Finanzwirt).
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in the field of financial accounting, payroll accounting, or tax preparation
- Initial leadership experience required, for example in audit or project management roles
- Experience in managing workflows and ensuring quality standards within a tax or financial services environment
- Proven experience in personnel development and recruitment
