Job Summary

As the Manager of Platform & Data Engineering at Discover Airlines, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability and day-to-day operation of the data platform in alignment with Lufthansa Group standards. Your role involves a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on technical execution, where you will design, implement, and operate Data & Analytics solutions within a DevOps/DataOps environment. You will collaborate closely with various departments to translate business needs into technical use cases, ranging from initial data retrieval and pipeline development to the creation of insightful dashboards. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys working at the intersection of platform maintenance and innovative data engineering. You will act as a key point of contact for ad-hoc reporting and group-wide technical exchanges, making it a highly visible role within the organization. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

Several years of relevant professional experience in data engineering or platform management
Hands-on experience in operating and maintaining analytics platforms
Practical experience with end-to-end delivery of data and analytics projects
Experience with data visualization and/or simulation tools
Experience working in a DevOps/DataOps environment
Professional experience in the aviation industry is preferred
