Job Summary

As a member of the IT Investigation Team at the Office for Fraud Combat, you will play a critical role in uncovering digital manipulation within business IT systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve preparing and executing house searches, seizing digital evidence, and performing forensic data recovery on hardware and software interfaces. You will analyze accounting and inventory management software to reconstruct deleted or damaged tax-relevant data. Beyond technical analysis, you will conduct interviews with witnesses and suspects, draft legal reports, and collaborate closely with public prosecutors on serious financial and social fraud cases. This position is unique as it combines deep technical IT forensics with active law enforcement duties, including field service and operational training. Required Skills

Education

High school diploma (Matura) required: Successfully completed BHS, AHS, or Berufsreifeprüfung (preferably from a Technical College/HTL or with an IT focus).

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT systems or software analysis
  • Experience in evaluating and processing digital data carriers and documents
  • Experience or willingness to participate in operational field training and service
  • Experience in conducting interviews or professional documentation is preferred
