Job Summary

As an Electrical Engineer for subway rectifier substations, you will play a critical role in maintaining the 'heartbeat' of Berlin's public transport infrastructure. Your daily responsibilities include managing the operational management of complex traction power systems, overseeing demanding project planning, and supervising construction tasks for subway and tram networks. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from creating tender documents and negotiating with contractors to the final implementation and commissioning of protection and measurement technology. A unique aspect of this role involves planning and conducting short-circuit tests in traction power grids to ensure safety and reliability. Required Skills

Education

Experience

  • Initial experience with electrical systems across various voltage levels (low, high, and DC voltage)
  • Experience in negotiating with internal departments and external contractors
  • Experience in creating technical specifications and tender documentation

  • Must pass a physical fitness examination according to BOStrab regulations. Willingness to perform night work on a two-to-three-week cycle is required. Valid Class B driver's license is mandatory. Willingness to acquire switching authorization for subway and tram power supply systems is expected.
