As a Data Engineer at BARMER, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the health insurance provider's digital future by developing innovative solutions for processing structured and unstructured data. Your day-to-day responsibilities include designing and operating robust data pipelines using AWS services like EMR, Glue, and Athena to support AI and Machine Learning applications. You will specifically focus on implementing ingestion pipelines for vector databases, forming the foundation for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and generative AI. Working closely with ML Engineers and Data Scientists, you will ensure data quality and consistency across large-scale datasets. Required Skills
Education
University degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in Data Engineering with a focus on AI and Cloud topics
- Proven experience in building, operating, and scaling productive data pipelines
- Practical experience in the processing and analysis of unstructured data such as text and images
- Professional experience working with Cloud platforms, preferably AWS
