As the Team Lead for Occupational Medicine and Hazardous Substance Management, you will provide both disciplinary and technical leadership for a cross-site team within a major industrial defense firm. Your daily responsibilities will involve coordinating external occupational health service providers across German branches, planning medical examinations, and ensuring legal compliance for hazardous materials across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. You will play a critical role in the internal approval processes for substances, evaluating chemical safety, and managing REACH compliance. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys bridging the gap between technical safety and health management. Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed degree in Chemistry, Safety Engineering, Occupational Sciences, Health Management, or a comparable field; alternatively, a technical vocational qualification with relevant advanced professional training.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in occupational safety, occupational medicine, or hazardous substance management, ideally within an industrial environment
- Previous leadership experience or experience in the technical management of teams and external service providers
- Practical experience with REACH regulations, preferably including substance registrations and approvals with ECHA
- Proven experience in the continuous development of legally compliant hazardous substance management systems

- Willingness to undertake occasional business travel to various sites in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland is required.
