Job Summary

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and detailing electrotechnical concepts for internal and external clients. Your daily tasks include creating circuit diagrams and manufacturing documents, including 3D assembly drawings, while ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards. You will play a key role in component definition, project documentation (such as FMEA and functional safety verification), and supporting control programming. This position is highly collaborative, involving cost calculations for bids and providing technical support during the assembly and commissioning phases both locally in Erlangen and at international sites. What makes this role unique is the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle—from initial concept and supplier contact to on-site commissioning in specialized environments like power plants.

Required Skills

Education

Degree or vocational training in Electrical Engineering with further qualification as a State-Certified Technician (Techniker).

Experience

  • Many years of professional experience in electrical design and documentation
  • Extensive experience with EPlan Electric P8 and ProPanel software
  • Proven experience in component selection and application of electrotechnical standards
  • Experience in creating project-specific documentation and commissioning records
  • Professional background in electrical drive and control systems

English (Intermediate)

  • Willingness to travel (approximately 20%), including readiness for assignments in nuclear power plants; valid Class B driver's license required; fixed-term contract duration.
