Job Summary

This role involves managing and evaluating safety-critical aspects of chemical-technical production processes, with a specific focus on thermal process safety, explosion protection, and toxicity. You will be responsible for creating and developing safety documentation based on legal requirements and internal guidelines, while moderating hazard and risk analyses (HAZOP). Day-to-day activities include monitoring safety-relevant tests, conducting EHS training, and participating in internal and external audits or authority inspections. The position is ideal for a proactive professional who enjoys a mix of technical evaluation, project management, and advisory duties within a global scientific leader. You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance for controlled substances and continuously improving Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) processes to support a safer and healthier world.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Chemistry or a comparable field of study; specialized training in thermal process safety; completed or willingness to complete training as a Safety Specialist (Sicherheitsfachkraft according to ASchG Section 7).

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the chemical industry
  • Professional experience specifically in the field of process safety
  • Proven experience in conducting and moderating risk analyses such as HAZOP
  • Experience in project management is preferred
  • Experience in conducting safety trainings and workshops

Additional

  • The role requires knowledge of Austrian safety regulations (ASchG) and chemical industry collective agreements. Must be able to coordinate controlled substances according to legal requirements. Location is Linz, Austria.
