As a Field Service Technician for VETEC ANLAGENBAU, you will play a pivotal role in the establishment of the company's new US subsidiary on the West Coast. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of high-end thermal food processing systems, including mechanical and electrical components. You will perform PLC diagnostics using Siemens TIA Portal, handle burner controls, and ensure optimal performance of heat exchangers and smoke generators. Beyond technical repairs, you will conduct safety inspections and train customer personnel on equipment operation and cleaning protocols. Required Skills

Education

Completed technical vocational training (e.g., Mechatronics Technician, Electronics Technician) with further qualification as a Master Craftsman or Technician, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, system installation, or technical troubleshooting
  • Experience in the meat processing industry is highly preferred
  • Professional experience in Siemens programming and PLC diagnostics
  • Experience reading and implementing technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and bills of materials

Languages

English (Fluent)

  • Relocation to the US West Coast is required. High willingness to travel for on-site service assignments. OSHA certification or knowledge of relevant safety regulations is an advantage. Valid work permit or eligibility for transfer to the USA is implied by the relocation requirement.
