Job Summary

As an Electrical Design Engineer for special-purpose machinery at FERCHAU, you will be responsible for the end-to-end electrical engineering lifecycle of custom industrial equipment. Your day-to-day activities involve creating electrotechnical plant calculations, designing systems according to specific customer requirements, and coordinating technical details with mechanical design and software engineering teams. You will be tasked with dimensioning and selecting electrical components, managing orders, and producing comprehensive manufacturing and customer documentation. The role offers a high degree of ownership, following projects from the initial design phase through to final handover. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in electrical engineering with further qualification as a Master Craftsman (Meister), Technician, or a University Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.

Experience

  • Professional experience in electrical design and project planning for special-purpose machinery
  • Proven experience in the selection and dimensioning of electrotechnical components
  • Experience in coordinating technical requirements between mechanical and software departments
  • Practical experience using professional electrical CAD tools like EPlan or WSCAD
  • Experience in creating manufacturing documentation and technical calculations
