Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity to serve as a technical expert for industrial spectroscopy applications across the DACH region. Based in a specialized laboratory near Frankfurt, you will be responsible for the end-to-end customer experience, from conducting pre-sales demonstrations and feasibility studies to providing post-sales training and technical troubleshooting. Your daily activities will involve hands-on lab management, ensuring instrument readiness, and performing complex spectral data interpretation for FTIR, FT-NIR, and Raman microscopy. You will act as a vital bridge between commercial teams and clients, translating technical requirements into practical solutions. This position is ideal for a scientist who enjoys a mix of laboratory work and field engagement, as it requires approximately 50% travel. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor of Science (BSc) required; Master of Science (MSc) or PhD preferred in Physical Chemistry, Materials Science, Analytical Chemistry, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience operating FTIR instruments, including FTIR microscope experience
  • Professional experience handling and preparing diverse industrial sample matrices
  • Proven capability in spectral and data interpretation across FTIR, FT-NIR, and Raman microscopy
  • Experience in delivering customer trainings and conducting feasibility demonstrations
  • Professional experience supporting commercial teams in a customer-facing applications role is advantageous

Additional

  • Must live within commuting distance of Dreieich/Frankfurt for lab ownership responsibilities. Requires approximately 50% travel primarily within the DACH region and occasionally EMEA.
