Job Summary

This role involves leading the electrical engineering and control systems aspects of large-scale automotive body shop projects, managing budgets between €5 million and €10 million. You will serve as the primary technical point of contact for control technology, overseeing the entire lifecycle from initial planning through to commissioning. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing automation concepts, selecting and managing suppliers, and coordinating on-site setup and startup phases at international customer locations. The position is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys the intersection of technical innovation and project management within the smart-factory and e-mobility sectors. You will work for a global player in the Lake Constance region, ensuring that complex manufacturing systems meet strict quality, cost, and deadline requirements while driving technological advancement in automation.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation Technology; alternatively, a qualification as a Technician or equivalent vocational training in a relevant field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in project management
  • Practical experience with circuit diagrams and commissioning of PLC control systems
  • Professional background in automotive plant construction or body shop systems
  • Experience in automation concept development and supplier selection
