Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Lower Saxony State Office for Monument Preservation (NLD) as a technical specialist in Hannover. You will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and organizational management of the FYLR information systems, including user setup and communication via ticket systems. A significant portion of the role focuses on geodata management, where you will administer the Geoserver (PostGIS database, roles/rights), maintain Masterportal versions, and manage OGC-standard services (WMS/WFS). Additionally, you will provide internal QGIS support and handle complex data requests for planning procedures. This position is unique as it combines technical IT administration with cultural heritage research, offering a modern workspace within a public service framework. This is a full-time parental leave replacement position fixed until July 31, 2027, offering a structured induction and flexible working hours in a collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in Geoinformatics, Archaeological Informatics, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience in geodata management or FYLR databases
  • Proven expertise in QGIS and Geoserver configuration
  • Practical experience with OGC-standard services
  • Experience in database administration and modern web APIs
  • Experience in technical user support and ticket system communication
