Job Summary

As an Electrical Systems Engineer at the German Center for Astrophysics (DZA) in Görlitz, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a world-class research facility. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of electrical engineering projects for renovations, conversions, and new constructions on the research campus. You will collaborate closely with future users to design innovative and sustainable supply concepts, develop energy management systems, and establish technical building standards. This role is unique as it offers the chance to contribute to a high-profile scientific institution while actively shaping the structural transformation of the Lusatia region. You will manage external service providers, monitor project quality and costs according to German HOAI standards, and ensure the successful delivery of technical infrastructure that supports cutting-edge astrophysical research.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diploma, Bachelor, or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

  • Professional experience in project management and construction supervision specifically within HOAI service phases 4 through 8
  • Proven experience in the planning and implementation of electrical engineering projects for new and existing buildings
  • Deep knowledge of relevant standards, regulations, and procurement procedures for public construction in Germany
  • Ideally, experience with federally funded construction projects (Zuwendungsbaumaßnahmen)
