Job Summary

This role is based at the Institute for Medical Microbiology, Virology and Hygiene at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). As a key member of the cellular microbiology research group, you will investigate the interaction between bacteria (Yersinia) and host cells such as macrophages. Your day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing complex experiments involving molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and microscopy. You will handle DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, protein purification via FPLC, and advanced fluorescence imaging. Beyond technical execution, you will manage laboratory organization, participate in international meetings, and contribute to scientific publications and reports.
