Job Summary

The Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of North Rhine-Westphalia is seeking a motivated Student Assistant to join the International Relations and Networks unit in Düsseldorf. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining the Ministry's international contacts by assisting with the organization and execution of high-level events, delegation visits, and international receptions. Your day-to-day tasks will involve conducting research on current political topics, preparing briefings for senior leadership, and providing administrative support. This position is ideal for students of Public Administration or Political Science looking to gain hands-on experience in a governmental setting. The role offers significant flexibility with a minimum of 7 hours per week and the possibility of mobile work. It is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of regional governance and international diplomacy, helping to host foreign guests and supporting occasional travel within the region.

Required Skills

Education

Current enrollment in a university degree program, specifically in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field.

Experience

  • Currently enrolled as a student in a Public Administration or Political Science degree program
  • Professional experience or internships in an international environment or through stays abroad is preferred
  • Experience in administrative tasks and event coordination is beneficial
  • No previous employment with the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (legal requirement for this contract type)
