Job Summary
As a Materials Tester within the QHSE department at Meyer Werft, you will play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity of world-class cruise ships and specialized vessels. Your daily responsibilities include performing both non-destructive (NDT) and destructive testing, evaluating results against technical standards, and documenting findings in comprehensive reports. You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining testing equipment, preparing samples, and supervising welding procedure tests. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-tech maritime environment where you independently select testing methods and oversee quality standards both on-site and at supplier locations. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IHK Materials Tester or a comparable technical qualification in the metalworking sector.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in destructive and/or non-destructive materials testing
- Proven experience in handling testing equipment and evaluating technical documentation
- Professional experience in welding technology standards and guidelines
- Experience in planning and managing welding and procedure tests
