Job Summary

This role involves managing and developing the 186-kilometer road network of the Gießen district. As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle of road and cycle path maintenance and construction, from initial basic evaluation and cost estimation to final billing. Your day-to-day duties include creating service specifications, managing procurement processes, and coordinating with external planners, authorities, and construction companies. Additionally, you will provide technical support for civil engineering projects at district-owned schools. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Road and Traffic Engineering, Infrastructure Management, or a comparable field (DQR Level 6). Alternatively, a certified Technician qualification with several years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in the management, planning, and implementation of maintenance and construction measures
  • Practical experience in construction preparation, execution, and final accounting of construction projects
  • Proven experience in applying road construction regulations and contract law (VOB, HOAI)
  • Experience in planning and processing outdoor facilities is advantageous
  • Experience in administrative procedures and environmental law is preferred
