Job Summary
This role involves performing critical non-destructive testing (NDT) on naval structures and components within a shipbuilding environment. Day-to-day, the successful candidate will conduct inspections on welding benches, specifically focusing on butt welds and fillet welds. A significant portion of the work involves radiographic testing (RT) during section construction and on-board assembly, which includes positioning mobile X-ray equipment weighing approximately 30 kg. You will also be responsible for testing piping systems in dedicated X-ray rooms and ensuring all non-destructive tests are performed independently according to specific work instructions and regulatory standards. Required Skills
Education
Qualified Materials Tester (Werkstoffprüfer) or equivalent technical vocational training with valid NDT certifications (PT, VT, MT, RT).
Experience
- Professional experience in non-destructive testing (NDT) within an industrial or maritime setting
- Experience in conducting radiographic testing (RT) and penetrant testing (PT) on board ships
- Demonstrated experience in testing weld seams (butt and fillet welds)
- Experience working according to technical work instructions and regulatory frameworks
- Physical ability to handle mobile testing equipment weighing approximately 30 kg

- Must be physically fit for heavy lifting (up to 30 kg) and working in shipbuilding environments (on-board and in X-ray rooms). Willingness to undergo further operational training is required.
