Job Summary
The Municipality of Simmerath is seeking a dedicated IT System Administrator to join their central administrative department. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the municipal IT infrastructure, providing first and second-level support for hardware and software across all facilities. Your tasks will include troubleshooting, user training, and the administration of various administrative software products. A significant part of the role involves supporting digital transformation initiatives, such as the expansion of the service portal and implementing E-Government requirements. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a family-like atmosphere within the public sector, with the security of the TVöD collective agreement. While initially a one-year fixed-term contract, there is a clear prospect of permanent employment upon successful performance. The role is ideal for service-oriented professionals who enjoy a mix of technical administration and user consultation.
Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration (Fachinformatiker Systemintegration) or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system integration or a comparable field
- Multi-year professional experience is desirable
- Experience in hardware and software troubleshooting and analysis
- Experience in administrative IT tasks and vendor communication

- Valid Class B driver's license required. Must be willing to occasionally perform tasks outside of core working hours. Candidates must meet the requirements for a fixed-term contract under § 14 Abs. 2 TzBfG (typically meaning no previous employment with the same employer).
