Job Summary

This role is based within the 'Pesticide Testing and Assessment Strategies' unit at the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) in Berlin. As a Technical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the safety assessment of biopesticides and chemical plant protection products. Your daily responsibilities will include performing technical literature searches for regulatory procedures (systematic reviews), providing hands-on laboratory assistance in cell culture and molecular biology, and supporting the operation of LC-MS/MS analytical equipment. Additionally, you will manage laboratory documentation, including equipment logs and chemical inventories within a LIMS, while ensuring compliance with quality management and occupational safety standards. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant (BTA, CTA, MTA) or a comparable professional qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in laboratory organization, including quality management and occupational safety
  • Practical experience in chemical analysis specifically using LC-MS/MS
  • Professional experience in molecular biology techniques such as PCR and DNA/RNA isolation is desired
  • Experience in public administration is preferred
  • Experience with systematic reviews in the context of pesticide or biocide approval processes is an advantage
