As an IT System Administrator at the Weilheim-Schongau District Office, you will play a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of regional schools and administrative services. Your day-to-day responsibilities focus on building, operating, and evolving a modern server and virtualization infrastructure. This includes setting up new VMware environments (ESXi, vCenter), managing Windows Server landscapes, and overseeing virtualized client environments (VDI) using Omnissa Horizon. Required Skills
Education
Degree in Computer Science, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics (Diploma, B.Sc., or M.A.) or completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration, Digital Networking, or IT Systems Electronician.
Experience
- Professional experience in the administration of VMware ESXi/Hypervisor-based environments
- Professional experience in operating Windows Servers, specifically Active Directory and Group Policies
- Experience in managing network infrastructures including switching, routing, and firewalls
- Practical experience in troubleshooting and error analysis for server and network systems
- Experience with virtualized storage solutions (e.g., NetApp) and VDI solutions is preferred
