Job Summary
This part-time (50%) Research Associate position at the Institute for Design Strategies (IDS) focuses on the 'Climate-Resilient Region OWL' project. Based at the Detmold campus, the successful candidate will lead the conceptual design and technical management of research initiatives at the intersection of regional climate adaptation, Artificial Intelligence, and Smart City technologies. Daily responsibilities include conducting scientific research, developing innovative research designs, and performing data-driven analyses. A key aspect of the role involves high-level communication with local authorities, development companies, and research institutions, alongside the publication of scientific papers and conference contributions. This role is ideal for professionals looking to apply digital and geo-data-based methodologies to sustainable urban development within a modern, family-friendly academic environment. Required Skills
Education
Successfully completed university degree (Master's level) in Urban Planning, Spatial Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Geoinformatics, or a comparable field of study.
Experience
- Professional experience in planning disciplines such as urban planning, architecture, or landscape architecture
- Experience with AI-based planning and design methodologies
- Demonstrated experience in conducting scientific research, surveys, and data analysis
- Experience in coordinating research activities and communicating with public stakeholders and funding bodies
