This role serves as the head of the local coordination office for the newly established Max Planck School of Biomedical AI at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the institutional setup and long-term strategic profiling of the school, acting as a central interface between scientists, governing bodies, and partner institutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include establishing governance and administrative structures, implementing a structured doctoral curriculum, and managing international recruitment processes. Additionally, the coordinator will oversee financial and administrative management, organize scientific events, and lead outreach activities to enhance the school's international visibility. This position is particularly attractive for experienced science managers looking to shape a high-profile, interdisciplinary graduate program at the intersection of biomedicine and artificial intelligence within one of Germany's most prestigious research networks.
Required Skills
Education
PhD in Life Sciences, Computational Sciences, or a related field.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in science management, research administration, or the coordination of complex, multi-site programs
- Proven experience in the development or management of interdisciplinary structures
- Demonstrated expertise in financial and administrative steering within a research environment
- Experience in strategic positioning and international brand positioning for academic programs
