Job Summary
This high-level leadership role involves serving as the permanent deputy head of the Controlling and Finance department for the City of Langen. You will take direct responsibility for the Financial Services unit, managing a team of eight employees while overseeing the strategic and operational aspects of municipal budgeting and financial controlling. Day-to-day responsibilities include ensuring the timely preparation of budget plans, creating balance sheets in accordance with proper accounting principles, and managing economic credit activities. You will also act as a strategic advisor to various municipal departments on cost accounting and budget execution. A key part of this role is driving the development of the city's financial systems and coordinating administrative matters across the broader 'City of Langen Group' entities. Required Skills
Education
Degree in Public Administration (Diplom-Verwaltungswirt or Bachelor of Arts), or a comparable qualification in Law or Business Administration; must meet requirements for higher civil service (höherer Dienst).
Experience
- Extensive professional experience in a leadership function within municipal administration or the private sector
- Proven experience in the finance sector, specifically regarding budgeting and financial reporting
- Experience in managing participations and subsidiaries, including knowledge of commercial and trade law
- Demonstrated experience in cooperative and appreciative personnel leadership
- Experience in coordinating complex administrative interests across multiple institutional stakeholders
