Job Summary
This role involves the nationwide installation and maintenance of critical alerting infrastructure, specifically focusing on siren systems and peripheral system technology. As a technician, you will manage the physical assembly of mast systems on roofs or open ground, handle wiring and electrical connections, and perform technical configuration and commissioning of the systems. You will ensure connectivity via TETRA, POCSAG, and IP networks while documenting all field activities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical and electrical work and is comfortable working at heights. It offers a unique opportunity to work on public safety infrastructure within a stable, established company. The role is highly mobile, requiring nationwide travel in a provided workshop vehicle, and offers a collaborative environment where you will coordinate closely with your team to plan and execute field deployments.
Required Skills
Education
Completed technical vocational training (e.g., Electronics Technician, Mechatronics Technician, Communication Electronics Technician, Telecommunications Technician) or equivalent professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in assembly or installation activities within a technical field
- Experience in mechanical mounting including wall, roof, and free-standing mast systems
- Practical experience in electrical wiring and technical configuration of system components
- Experience working at heights (must be comfortable with heights/giddiness-free)
- Experience in the field of public safety (BOS/emergency services) is a plus but not mandatory
