Job Summary
This Splunk Engineer role involves actively shaping innovative e-government applications and central IT infrastructure for the Free State of Bavaria. The successful candidate will be responsible for data analysis and reporting using Splunk, strategic planning and conception, and acting as a key interface for internal and external clients, including project management and organization. The position requires a strong background in IT, particularly in IT security, logging, and monitoring, along with practical experience in modern development methodologies like GitOps, Scrum, and DevSecOps. It offers a stable, full-time, and permanent position with excellent work-life balance, including up to 80% home office, and public sector benefits.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Dipl.-FH or Bachelor) in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field, OR completed IT vocational training with several years of professional experience and extensive further training in two additional IT specializations (e.g., programming, operating system administration, network administration).
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in data analysis, reporting, strategic planning, and client interface management
- Professional experience in IT security, logging, monitoring, and requirement engineering
- Experience with deploying IT (security) tools
- Experience working with GitOps, Scrum, and DevSecOps methodologies
- Desirable: Experience in project management

- Willingness to undergo a basic security clearance (Ü1) according to the Bavarian Security Clearance Act. Located in Munich, Germany. Eligibility for public service employment in Bavaria.
