Job Summary

This role involves the establishment and conceptual development of a central service and advisory office (ZAN) focused on addressing antisemitism within Lower Saxony's higher education institutions. As a Policy Advisor, you will serve as a primary contact for university members, providing networking, consulting, and educational resources. Your day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating and implementing university-appropriate educational formats such as workshops, training sessions, and conferences, as well as developing educational materials. You will work closely with stakeholders across the academic and civil society sectors to foster democratic values and prevent discrimination. This position is particularly attractive for those seeking a long-term, permanent role in the public sector (TV-L E13) with a high degree of creative freedom. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's or equivalent) preferably in Political Science or Sociology; alternatively in Religious Studies, Jewish Studies, or Social Sciences.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience relevant to the fields of political science, sociology, or antisemitism prevention
  • Professional experience in the (Lower Saxony) higher education and scientific system
  • Experience in building and managing networks with non-university actors and Jewish community institutions
  • Experience in designing and conducting workshops, training, and conferences

Additional

  • Must be eligible for public service employment (TV-L E13). Willingness to undergo independent further training for specific subject matter gaps is required. Applicants from the public service must provide their current pay grade and consent for personnel file inspection.
