Job Summary
As a ServiceNow Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the high availability and performance of a self-hosted ServiceNow platform for one of Europe's largest banking IT service providers. Your day-to-day activities involve installing, configuring, and managing the system architecture across development, testing, and production environments. You will play a critical role in release management, ensuring that new content is deployed smoothly while maintaining the underlying Oracle and Unix-based infrastructure. Beyond routine maintenance, you will provide 3rd-level support, monitor system health using tools like Splunk or Grafana, and proactively develop strategies to optimize platform stability. This role is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy a mix of systems administration and platform engineering within a large-scale financial services environment. Required Skills
Education
Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field of study; alternatively, a completed technical vocational training with an IT focus.
Experience
- At least 3 years of professional experience in IT operations or a related technical field
- Professional experience in self-responsible problem-solving and proactive system development
- Experience with database technologies such as Oracle or PostgreSQL is preferred
- Experience with scripting languages including Shell or JavaScript is an advantage
- Previous experience with ServiceNow platform administration or monitoring solutions is highly desirable

- Willingness to work weekends and participate in on-call rotations is required. Position is based in Hannover or Münster, though the specific department is currently represented in Hannover.
