Job Summary

The Leipzig Police Department is seeking an Information and Communication Technology Officer to join their team permanently. This role involves comprehensive administration and management of IT and communication systems, including specialized software and network infrastructures for police operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting decentralized server technology, planning and securing police-specific IT/telecommunication equipment for deployments, and maintaining standard market software and network infrastructures, particularly VoIP. This position requires strong technical expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and Cisco network components, along with excellent problem-solving skills for 1st and 2nd-level support. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational training in Informatics, Communication and Information Technology, or as an IT Specialist for System Integration, or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in handling ICT technology and software tools
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux Server, and Cisco network components
  • Comprehensive knowledge in the application and programming of MS-Office applications
  • Experience in administering Cisco Call Manager and knowledge of VoIP infrastructures
  • Relevant experience in independent troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution (1st-level) including documentation
  • Experience in initiating, organizing, and supporting extended troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution (2nd-level) including documentation
