Job Summary

As a Civil Engineer for the Emmerthal municipal utilities, you will play a vital role in securing the region's water supply and wastewater disposal systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing investment and renovation projects for infrastructure such as wells, reservoirs, pumping stations, and a 128 km pipeline network. You will act as the client representative, coordinating external engineering firms and specialized contractors while ensuring projects meet quality, deadline, and cost targets. The role involves a mix of office-based project management, including tender processing and cost calculations, and field work for construction supervision. This position is particularly attractive due to its long-term stability within the public service sector (TVöD), flexible working hours with home office options, and the opportunity to contribute directly to environmental protection and public health for approximately 10,000 residents.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's, Master's, or Diploma in Civil Engineering, preferably with a focus on Urban Water Management or Environmental Engineering.

Experience

  • Professional experience in construction management or project execution is desirable
  • Experience in coordinating external engineering firms and specialized contractors
  • Experience in handling investment and renovation measures for technical facilities
  • Experience in construction supervision and site inspections

Languages

German (Intermediate)

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license required. Must be able to work at least 30 hours per week. Knowledge of German legal frameworks (VOB, HOAI, UVgO) is required.
