Job Summary
This role involves conducting cross-phenomenon research using publicly accessible sources to support the Mainz Police Headquarters. As an OSINT Specialist, you will be responsible for the electronic preservation of evidence, contributing to the conceptual development of operational and strategic internet evaluations, and maintaining supra-regional professional contacts. A significant portion of the role includes the development and administration of software tools used for internet investigations, as well as utilizing advanced analysis and monitoring tools. This position is ideal for IT professionals who enjoy analytical thinking and want to apply their technical skills to public safety. The role offers a dynamic team environment within the Criminal Investigation Department, flexible working hours, and the stability of a public service contract (TV-L). Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor's or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related IT field; alternatively, completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with several years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) and networking within the OSINT community
- Professional experience with operating systems, specifically Windows and Windows Server
- Practical experience in programming with languages such as C++, C#, Python, or Java
- Experience in the application of analysis and monitoring tools for digital investigations
- Several years of professional experience in an IT-related field if no university degree is held
- Experience with database systems including SQL Server, Oracle, and XML technologies

- Must be willing to participate in on-call duty (Rufbereitschaft) and flexible working hours.
