Job Summary

This role involves managing the financial administration of research projects at the University Hospital Erlangen, a leading medical research facility. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of project funding, from initial application support to final financial reporting. Day-to-day tasks include managing budgets for public, EU, and international donors (such as the NIH), processing invoices, calculating personnel costs, and maintaining master data within SAP systems. For the international focus, you will also prepare audits and handle English-language self-disclosures in various grant portals. This position is ideal for finance professionals who enjoy a mix of advisory work and meticulous accounting. It offers a secure public service contract (TV-L) with flexible working options, including mobile work after an initial onboarding period. The role is unique for its exposure to high-level medical research funding and international financial compliance.

Required Skills

Education

Completed commercial training (e.g., Bank Clerk) with further qualification as a Specialist or Business Administrator, or a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the fields of finance, controlling, and accounting
  • Experience in the administrative handling of research projects is preferred
  • Knowledge of research funding systems in Germany, the EU, or international donors is an advantage
  • Experience with SAP systems, specifically SAP FI and Records Management
  • Professional background in commercial administration or banking
