Job Summary

This full-time, permanent role is based within the Unna District Administration's Lower Soil Conservation Authority. As part of a dedicated team of eight, you will be responsible for the sustainable protection of soil and groundwater. Your day-to-day activities include drafting expert statements for building permits and water rights procedures, conducting risk assessments, and planning remediation measures for contaminated sites. You will also provide technical advice to investors regarding land redevelopment and manage the digital contaminated site register using GIS and database systems. The position offers a high degree of flexibility with mobile working options, flexitime, and on-site childcare. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Engineering with a focus on Environmental Protection, Soil Conservation, Contaminated Sites, Geology, or Water Management.

Experience

  • Professional experience in environmental protection, soil conservation, or water management
  • Experience in evaluating expert reports and deriving remediation requirements
  • Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and databases
  • Experience in administrative procedures such as building permits or water rights is preferred

  • Valid Class B driver's license required. Readiness to use a private vehicle for official business (reimbursable) or use the vehicle pool. Participation in the environmental emergency on-call rotation is required.
