Job Summary

As an Optical Transmission Technician specializing in DWDM, you will be responsible for the commissioning, expansion, and operation of high-performance xWDM systems within nationwide transport and backbone networks. Your daily activities involve the configuration of multiplexers, transponders, and line cards, alongside performing critical technical measurements such as OSNR, spectral analysis, and RFC tests to ensure optimal signal quality. You will play a vital role in network migrations, hardware swaps, and the formal handover of systems into regular operation. This position is ideal for professionals who enjoy technical hands-on work at central network infrastructure sites and PoPs. Required Skills

Education

Completed technical training or a comparable qualification in the field of Telecommunications, Communications Engineering, or Network Technology.

Experience

Practical experience in optical transmission technology, specifically within DWDM or xWDM environments
Professional experience in the operation and maintenance of transport and backbone networks
Demonstrated experience with optical measurement procedures and signal quality assessment
Experience in independent, structured, and analytical troubleshooting and network optimization

Languages

German (Fluent)
