Job Summary

As an FPGA Development Engineer at Kappa optronics, you will play a critical role in developing high-tech vision systems for the defense, aviation, and automotive sectors. Your daily responsibilities include developing image and data processing modules using VHDL, performing functional verification through simulations, and integrating third-party IP cores into custom designs. You will handle the entire FPGA workflow, from initial design and timing constraints to debugging with embedded tools like SignalTap or ILA and using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes. The role requires a collaborative approach, working closely with other engineers and utilizing version control systems. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a comparable field of study.

Experience

  • Professional experience as an FPGA Designer
  • Proven experience in VHDL and typical FPGA workflows including development, verification, and timing/pin-constraining
  • Experience in integrating third-party IP cores and system-level design
  • Experience with laboratory hardware tools such as multimeters and logic analyzers
