Job Summary

This role involves supporting an international research team led by Prof. Dr. Carmen Gerlach at the University of Regensburg, focusing on T-cell diversity in cancer and infectious diseases. As a Technical Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in establishing a new research group, managing laboratory operations, and coordinating the move into a new facility. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing transgenic mouse colonies, performing genotyping and phenotyping, and conducting in vivo experiments such as blood sampling and tissue collection. You will also support molecular biology tasks and primary cell culture while assisting PhD students and postdocs. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant (BTA, MTA, CTA), a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or a comparable qualification. FELASA certification is required.

Experience

  • Professional experience in laboratory technical assistance (BTA/MTA/CTA context)
  • Practical experience in working with mice and animal handling
  • Experience with molecular biology methods and genetic engineering
  • Experience in laboratory organization or setting up new research environments
  • Experience in collaborating with and instructing students and researchers
