Job Summary

This full-time role in Berlin involves developing and optimizing firmware for embedded systems while integrating 'Security by Design' principles. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for implementing encryption, secure boot processes, and cryptographic methods. Your day-to-day tasks include conducting code reviews, unit testing, and developing secure over-the-air (OTA) update mechanisms. You will work closely with hardware, QA, and production departments to ensure firmware is ready for deployment and mass production. This position is unique for its heavy focus on security standards like IEC 62443 and Common Criteria within a 35-hour work week. The role offers a permanent contract, attractive tariff-based compensation, and a collaborative environment that bridges the gap between software development and physical production processes. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, Physics, or a comparable technical qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in firmware development and embedded systems
  • Practical experience with C/C++ and low-level programming
  • Experience with security concepts such as Secure Boot and cryptographic procedures
  • Experience with debugging tools and hardware-level troubleshooting
  • Experience with version control systems and CI/CD workflows
  • Experience in testing methodologies including Unit Tests and Integration Tests
