Job Summary
This role is for a dedicated and creative Biotechnologist to join the Werner Siemens Chair of Synthetic Biotechnology at the Technical University of Munich. The position focuses on the isolation, characterization, and process-oriented optimization of enzymes and microorganisms for industrial platform chemicals, with a specific emphasis on converting biogenic residues into valuable materials. Day-to-day tasks include developing and optimizing enzymatic hydrolysis of plant residues, conducting lab-scale degradation and recycling experiments, and analyzing reactions using advanced spectroscopic techniques. The successful candidate will also cultivate fungi for peroxidase production, assist with scale-up experiments, supervise students, and communicate with project partners. Required Skills
Education
Master's or Diploma degree in a relevant engineering or natural science discipline
