Job Summary

This role involves the technical management and further development of 'RoboLab' at the Hamburg Public Libraries. As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for creating and implementing educational formats in robotics and making, aimed at making technology accessible to the public. Your day-to-day will involve programming and developing project-based learning content for various robots like NAO, Dash, and Thymio, as well as representing the library in regional MINT (STEM) networks. You will provide technical guidance to staff and collaborate closely with the Media Competence Cluster to design the library of the future. This position is unique as it blends high-level technical robotics expertise with public educational outreach in a vibrant cultural setting. The role includes regular information service shifts and occasional Saturday duties, balanced by compensatory time off, offering a meaningful impact on digital literacy in Hamburg.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in a technical field (e.g., Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or a technical vocational qualification with proven expertise; alternatively, a degree in Media or Library Pedagogy with specialized robotics knowledge.

Experience

  • Professional experience in programming and robotics applications
