Job Summary
This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the digital future of urban traffic control for the City of Leipzig. Working within the Mobility and Civil Engineering Office, you will be responsible for the IT application management of traffic computer technology within a Critical Infrastructure (KRITIS) environment. Your day-to-day will involve the conceptual planning and modernization of traffic computers and connected systems, ensuring high availability and stable operations. You will lead innovative projects in traffic and data management, handle procurement processes, and coordinate traffic control measures with internal and external partners like the police and emergency services. Required Skills
Education
University degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Traffic Telematics, or a related technical engineering field with a specialization in IT for transport.
Experience
- At least 3 years of practical experience in the construction, operation, and development of IT networks and system architectures
- Extensive knowledge in operating central control units for traffic or traffic engineering applications
- Experience in managing external service providers and ensuring quality standards
- Professional experience in conceptual planning and modernization of IT systems
- Experience in acquiring and managing funded projects is preferred

- Class B driver's license is desired. Applicants with less than 3 years of experience may be considered at a lower salary group (EG 11). The position is fixed-term until December 31, 2026. Location: Leipzig, Germany.
