Job Summary

This role involves working for the Freiburg Regional Council within the Industrial Safety and Environmental Protection department. You will be responsible for conducting licensing procedures in accordance with emission control, occupational health and safety, water, and waste laws. A significant portion of your daily activities will include monitoring compliance with safety and environmental standards at large-scale industrial sites, performing incident and environmental inspections, and providing technical advice to both companies and lower administrative authorities. This position is unique as it offers a structured one-year induction program for the Baden-Württemberg environmental administration, including interdisciplinary training and a four-month secondment to a district office. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or University Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field.

  • Experience in conducting licensing procedures under environmental and labor laws
  • Professional experience in public administration is considered an advantage
  • Experience in performing industrial or environmental inspections
  • Proven ability to work independently and under time pressure in a legal-technical context
